A Fact

The FIFA womens world cup finals 2011 will be held in Germany. After the German Football Association (DFB) expressed its intention to bid for the Women's World Cup, 23 German cities applied to host World Cup games. Twelve cities were chosen for the official bidding dossier handed over to FIFA in August 2007.[6] On 30 September 2008, the DFB executive committee decided to use nine stadiums for the tournament; the original candidates EssenMagdeburg and Bielefeld were not chosen as World Cup venues.[7]

The opening game will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, the venue of the 2006 men's World Cup Final; it will be the only match played in Berlin. The final of the tournament will take place at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, the venue of the 2005 men's Confederations Cup final.[7] According to DFB general secretary Wolfgang Niersbach, the Women's World Cup should begin at the stadium where the men's World Cup ended in 2006.[8] The final match schedule will be issued by FIFA by the end of 2008. Each host city is expected to be allocated a maximum of four matches.[7] Overall, approximately one million tickets will be available.[8]From Wikipedia

A Fact
Hannover's low point came with demotion to Regionalliga Nord (III) for two years in 1996-98: the fact that the fall from the second league came during their anniversary year unfortunately made them a laughing stock among fans of rival teams for years to come. Hannover made a fresh start with a new team of hungry youngsters, many of whom went on to play for the national team (Gerald AsamoahSebastian KehlFabian Ernst) or impress in the Bundesliga. 96 returned to tier II play in 1998, and to the Bundesliga in 2002 on the strength of a record setting 75 point season.Wikipedia
